You’ve heard this a thousand times before… Happiness is a choice. But did you know only approximately 50% or less of the population will actually choose to be #happy? Researchers have discovered that those who actually fight or strive to be happy are almost 80% happier than those who simply accept their genes and concede to a life of unhappiness. So you know what you have to do right? Change your thoughts! You know those #thoughts you repeat over and over again in your head, day in and day out, like a song track stuck on an endless loop. If it’s a positive thought that moves you closer to your #goal, that’s wonderful. However, if not and you notice they’re actually negative repetitive thoughts you will need to get that in check before you can ever expect to see results. Your thoughts have the power to amazing things but if not monitored it can magnify all the emotions you don’t want as well. Such as stress, worry, anxiety and frustration. Those are the kind of feelings that will hinder any possible personal growth.

My most recent online fitness challenge had me take a very close look at my Facebook friends list. As I began to send out messages announcing its start,  I realized I didn’t know many of the people I was connected with. When I first signed up for Facebook, it was largely something that I used to connect with family and close friends. However in time, as my business grew, I began to be less particular about accepting friend requests. No, I wasn’t adding complete strangers but if you were a coach or a “friend of a friend” who was into fitness I happily accepted your request. I looked at Facebook as a tool to connect with not only family and friends but my clients as well. It gave me the opportunity to build my business and drive some traffic to my website. Unfortunately, as a result, my Facebook news feed became bombarded with unknown people. Healthiest Pumpkin French Toast

In honor of #NationalFrenchToastDay here’s a recipe that’s sure to delight the entire family while being HEALTHY!

Healthy French Toast

 

Ingredients
3 pieces of 100% stoneground whole wheat or Seeded Honey Wheat bread
2 organic egg whites
2 Tbsp. canned organic pureed pumpkin
¼ cup organic grass-fed milk
⅛ tsp. organic cinnamon
¼ tsp. pumpkin pie spice
Organic Maple Syrup for Topping

Instructions
In a bowl, whisk egg whites lightly while adding in pumpkin, milk, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice. Heat a skillet (or griddle) over medium heat. Spray with cooking spray.Dip bread, one at a time, into egg mixture, flip over and get the whole piece of bread coated. Let excess drip off bread and then place on hot skillet (or griddle). When browned, carefully flip over. Brown on other side. Serve immediately with syrup or fruit and enjoy!
